Nick Zaccagnino founded Global Sports & Entertainment in 1996, and he continues to oversee the entire operation of the company, from celebrity and athlete talent production to live event management, to business development. Nick has worked on such events as Sports Illustrated 20th Century Sports Awards, The ESPY'S, and ESPN The Weekend. Nick began his career in radio, producing Jim Rome in Santa Barbara, CA. He also served as a producer for the top-rated McDonnell/Douglas Show in Los Angeles. He then made the transition into television as a talent producer for Jim Rome at ESPN. Nick graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of California at Santa Barbara in 1989. Nick's interests include going to the beach, skiing, tennis, golf, basketball, and walks with his dog. Nick is married and enjoys spending time with family.
Julie Matz Senior Talent Producer
Julie Matz joined Global Sports & Entertainment in 1999. She manages GSE's operations and brings an extensive background in talent production. Julie serves as a senior talent producer for various television shows and live events, responsible for researching, soliciting and securing talent, as well as arranging their travel and accommodations. She also manages events on-site and oversees the company's additional talent producers. Prior to joining Global Sports & Entertainment, Julie served as a media liaison for the Women's Professional Volleyball Association and as an assistant at Smith Public Relations. She graduated cum laude from California State University, Dominguez Hills with a Bachelor of Science in Communications. Julie and her husband, Greg, proudly raise three daughters, Anna, Kelsey and Samantha. Julie enjoys running, tennis, beach volleyball, swimming, walking her dog and spending time with family and friends.
Evan Levy Senior Event Manager/Talent Producer
Evan books talent for special events, TV shows and live events and manages the talent team in the overall execution of events. He brings over 12 years of sports industry experience in marketing, public relations, sales, event management, athlete relations, and social media. Prior to GSE, Evan handled marketing and promotions at William Morris for such high-profile sports celebrities as Serena Williams, Kevin Garnett, Pete Sampras and Michelle Wie and was ultimately promoted to talent agent. Evan enjoys golf, tennis, and basketball as well as watching University of Arizona football and basketball games. Known as a pretty good baller himself, Evan played high school hoops at Crossroads High in Santa Monica, California with future NBA players Baron Davis and Austin Croshere. Evan attended the University of Arizona where he majored in media arts and minored in communication.
Cindy Katz Talent Producer
Cindy brings years of experience as a celebrity sports talent booker for ESPN and has booked some of the biggest names in sports, including Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Cal Ripken, Jack Nicklaus, Wayne Gretzky, Sandy Koufax, Troy Aikman, Shaquille O’Neal, and Charles Barkley. Prior to GSE, Cindy served as Talent Producer for the 7-time Emmy Award-winning show, “Up Close,” for ESPN and has managed talent onsite at the Super Bowl, NCAA Tournament, and MLB All-Star Games. She also held positions at the NBA, the Miami Heat, and the Baltimore Orioles. Cindy is a huge New York Giants fan and is a proud mother of two wonderful daughters. Cindy graduated from American University in Washington, D.C.
Ben Weiss Athlete Relations/Jr. Talent Producer
Ben serves as a junior talent producer and research coordinator. He has helped coordinate a number of significant accounts, including ESPN the Weekend, AEG, and ESPY Golf. Prior to working for Global Sports & Entertainment, Ben covered University of Southern California Football for the school website, served as a marketing intern with the 2010 World Champion Los Angeles Lakers, and handled publicity for select USC football players in preparation for the 2011 NFL Draft. Ben graduated from The University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations and was a proud member of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity. In his spare time, Ben enjoys playing pickup basketball at Venice Beach, attending USC football games and other live events, spending time with friends, and weekend snowboarding trips to Big Bear Mountain.
